Pointless
Tony used to be tall
now he’s long
went in for a back adjustment,
some minor twinges of pain—
a day later,
he’s a quadriplegic.
He talked about
all the money he’d soon be getting
how it meant nothing more
than vindication;
he said he just wanted the ability
to point out that he’d been wronged
and then remembered
he couldn’t even
do that.
