SHORELINE NAP
Shoreline stretches gray thin
past forever.
I spread my blanket across smoldering sands where
Sun ripples quiet.
I sleep steady as
the tide lurches on.
Darcy Smith is new to writing poetry. She has an upcoming publication on the Troy based website, localcaremidwifery.com. She is a member of The Vineyard Seven Writer’s Group, and regularly participates in open mic events at the Woodstock Poetry Society as well as at other readings in the Hudson Valley. She is endlessly fascinated by language, nuance and meaning and has been in private practice as a sign language interpreter in the Greater Hudson Valley for the past two decades.
